ISLAMABAD, JULY 18: According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Karachi saw the hottest night of July for the second time this month on Tuesday night (PMD).
At least 32 degrees Celsius were attained, which matched the record established on July 1 for the hottest evening temperature ever recorded in July in the city. The average July temperature in Karachi is 27.9 degrees Celsius, therefore the recent evenings have been 4.1 degrees warmer than normal.
The incomplete return of sea breezes was the reason given by the PMD for the extended heatwave. The heat has also become more intense due to high humidity levels, making it feel more severe. According to Met Office forecasts, Sindh, including Karachi, will be hit by a fresh bout of monsoons beginning around July 18 or 19.
Despite sporadic rain last week, locals have been dealing with consistently high temperatures recently. The highest temperature in Karachi is predicted to be between 34°C and 36°C, with a recorded minimum of 30.5°C, due to sea breezes blowing at 18 km/h.
