Islamabad, Sep 14: Under the direction of the Honorable Chief Minister Mr. Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB) has unveiled a number of ground-breaking initiatives that represent a significant step toward creating a digitally empowered and economically resilient Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

These initiatives aim to boost digital skills, foster entrepreneurial innovation, and create job opportunities across the province.

Key Announcements:
  1. Digital Internship Program Launch
    With the beginning of its Digital Internship Program, the KPITB is providing 200 internship opportunities to recent graduates to help them gain skills that employers are looking for. The IT businesses situated in the IT parks of Peshawar and Abbottabad will host these interns, providing them with hands-on experience and enhancing their employability. Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur oversaw the initiative’s introduction.
  2. Join IT: Bridging Talent and Industry
    The new Join IT online portal was introduced to connect skilled individuals with IT companies seeking technical expertise. The platform will act as a talent demand-supply bridge, allowing organizations to find the skilled workforce they need while providing employment opportunities to local talent. This initiative was also launched by the Chief Minister.
  3. Google Partnership for Digital Skills Scholarships
    KPITB has partnered with Google through 5,000 young people from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will get scholarships from Tech Valley so they can obtain certificates in in-demand digital skills. Through this collaboration, the gap between traditional education and industry demands will be filled, enabling young people to get the skills necessary to spur economic growth and innovation.
  4. 2024 Startup Cohort Welcomed at Durshal
    The KPITB’s premier business incubation center, Durshal, hosted the 2024 batch of businesses, whom the Chief Minister also greeted. Twenty firms from districts including Swabi, Peshawar, Mardan, and Swat make up the new cohort, which represents a sustained commitment to fostering entrepreneurial innovation. Durshal has supported 173 firms since its founding, producing PKR 751 million in sales and over 1,600 direct jobs.

Addressing the ceremony, the Chief Minister said, “We are committed to transforming Khyber Pakhtunkhwa into a hub of digital excellence. These initiatives will not only equip our youth with the necessary skills but also create an ecosystem that nurtures innovation and entrepreneurship,”
