Islamabad, Aug 4: The Provincial Motor Vehicles Amendment Bill 2024, which modifies how traffic fines are distributed, was approved by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly. During the assembly session, the bill was submitted by Law Minister Aftab Alam.
Important Modifications

The following changes to the distribution of traffic penalties are included in the bill:

Ten percent will go toward creating a welfare fund.

Thirty-five percent will be given to traffic police officers as incentives.

Officers who are gazetted receive 1%.

12% is distributed to ticket agents.

Staff who beat traffic received 22%.

Five percent will be awarded to staff members who do exceptionally well.

A quarter will go toward equipment purchases, education, and traffic safety training.

Other Updates on Legislation
The Zakat and Ushr Bill 2024 was further modified during the meeting, and its debate was moved to the following one. In addition, the Assembly Select Committee’s objections led to the withdrawal of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Employees Bill.
