Islamabad, Aug 15: As part of the celebrations for Independence Day, the administration, instructors, and students of Khanewal Public School and University College (KPS&UC) planted about 2000 fruit trees and shade-loving plants at the botanical garden.
As part of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s “Sarsabs Punjab” vision, students toiled diligently in the sweltering heat alongside educators and administrative authorities, according to a statement released here on Thursday.
The plantation was started by Principal Hafiz Rashid Saeed Rana, while teachers, students, registrar Naseem Kausar, executive of the girls’ wing Musarrat Gilani, executive of the boys’ wing Muhammad Anwaar, and Incharge of the prep school Fauzia Ahmad Khaga continued to plant saplings at Chaudhry Saleem Raza botanical garden.
CM Maryam led the initiative for a greener Punjab, according to Principal Rashid Saeed Rana, who called it a gift to the people on the day of their independence. He said that the district had planted thousands of new trees as a result of the Plant for Pakistan program, which will contribute in the fight against environmental deterioration. He mentioned that various groups have been established to tend to the young plants in the botanical garden.
