Islamabad, Aug 1: The city of Lahore received over 350 millimeters of rain in just three hours, smashing a weather record that had stood for 44 years.
In Tajpura, a lot of rain has flooded homes, flooded roads, and messed up morning commutes. Numerous locations have experienced widespread power disruptions as a result of the rain. Beyond Lahore, other cities including Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Sheikhupura, Pakpattan, Kasur, Jehlum, and others were also hit by the intense rains. These cities’ low-lying regions were all underwater.The Pakistan Meteorological Department’s chief meteorologist, Sardar Sarfaraz, called the rains in Lahore “torrential.”
Although the severity of this spell is predicted to decrease, there will still be sporadic rain till this evening due to a sizable cloud mass. There will be rain in a few areas of the nation between August 1 6, he said.
