ISLAMABAD, AUGUST 1: Commissioner Lahore has issued a rain emergency for the entire provincial capital of Lahore in response to the city’s record-breaking rainfall.

In reaction, to avoid damage from the intense rain, all Lahore offices and schools have been closed. The public has been instructed by the Commissioner to stay home unless absolutely essential.

When Commissioner Zaid bin Maqsood stopped by the WASA headquarters, MD Ghufran Ahmed gave him a thorough rundown of the drainage operations. Additionally, the Commissioner asked locals to use caution and keep kids indoors during the inclement weather.

It is important to note that earlier today, in just three hours, Lahore got more over 350 millimeters. The Pakistan Meteorological Department’s chief meteorologist, Sardar Sarfaraz, called the rains in Lahore “torrential.”
