Islamabad, 23 Ap, 2025: Anti-encroachment efforts have intensified across Lahore as authorities carry out an extensive city-wide crackdown to clear public spaces of illegal structures and obstructions.

The ongoing campaign, aimed at restoring accessibility and order, is being spearheaded under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Lahore, Syed Musa Raza, with on-ground supervision by COMCL Shahid Abbas Kathia.

In a major push during this anti-encroachment drive, 16 trucks filled with confiscated materials were seized, while nearly 5,500 illegal banners and flexes were removed from public spaces.

Authorities also sealed 92 properties found in violation of municipal regulations, and two cases were formally registered for severe infractions.

According to officials, eight permanent structures and 577 temporary encroachments were demolished during the latest operations.

The crackdown has been carried out in several parts of the city including Shalimar, GT Road, and Nishtar Colony, extending to areas such as Kacha Jail Road, Pak Arab Housing Society, and Ferozepur Road.

Metropolitan Officer Regulation Headquarters Kashif Jalil, who led the teams on the ground, confirmed that key urban areas have now been cleared of obstructions.

He emphasized that these anti-encroachment operations are part of a broader strategy to improve the city’s infrastructure, reduce traffic congestion, and enhance pedestrian safety.

DC Lahore, Syed Musa Raza, noted that the campaign is not only improving the city’s visual appeal but also restoring public right-of-way.

He stated that the Punjab Chief Minister has expressed keen interest in the elimination of encroachments and is closely monitoring progress.

Residents have started experiencing tangible benefits from the campaign, with wider roads and improved access to markets and public buildings.

City officials have reiterated their commitment to sustaining the operation until all encroachments are removed and Lahore is transformed into a cleaner, more navigable urban environment.

With anti-encroachment teams continuing their mission in multiple zones, the district administration insists that restoring public spaces remains a top priority.
