Islamabad, Jan 27: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) is making strides in the development of commercial spaces on newly reclaimed land within the Subzazar Housing Scheme. This initiative comes after LDA successfully retrieved 300 kanals of land from encroachers and land grabbers in Blocks D, K, and L.

LDA Director General Tahir Farooq, along with other officials, recently visited the reclaimed site to assess progress. During the inspection, LDA Director Housing IV, Yawar Bashir Virk, provided a detailed update on the ongoing anti-encroachment operations. He emphasized that the enforcement squad has been consistently monitoring the area, conducting regular raids to prevent illegal encroachments.

As a result, measures like erecting fences, constructing walls, and installing signage clearly marking the land as LDA property have been put in place to prevent further unauthorized occupation.

Tahir Farooq also highlighted the importance of securing LDA-owned land across various housing schemes. He instructed his team to implement stringent protective measures to ensure that reclaimed properties remain under LDA control.

In line with this, Farooq announced plans to develop commercial areas on the 300-kanal of reclaimed land in the Subzazar Housing Scheme, offering new business opportunities for the area.

This project will not only boost the local economy by creating commercial hubs but also contribute to the efficient urban development of Lahore, addressing both business needs and infrastructure requirements. The LDA’s commitment to improving urban spaces through anti-encroachment efforts and development plans reflects a forward-thinking approach to sustainable city growth.
