Nine Pakistani players have been selected to participate in the upcoming Lankan Premier League, slated to commence immediately after the 2024 T20I World Cup in the West Indies and USA.

Running from July 1 to July 21, the LPL is set to witness a notable presence of Pakistani cricketers. The LPL 2024 auction featuring over 420 players from 24 cricket-playing nations, including 154 Sri Lankan players, saw eight Pakistani players being acquired by various teams.

Colombo Strikers bolstering their squad with star all-rounder Shadab Khan, further reinforced their lineup by securing fast bowler Mohammad Wasim for $20,000.

Meanwhile Dambulla Thunders strategically acquired middle-order batsman Iftikhar Ahmed and promising young batsman Haider Ali to enhance their batting department’s depth and experience.

B-Love Kandy actively participating in the auction secured the services of fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain for $30,000, adding his express pace to their bowling arsenal.

The franchise retained consistent performer wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Haris and signed power-hitting batsman Azam Khan, all-rounder Salman Ali Agha, and pacer Mohammad Ali, forming a formidable squad.

With the Conclusion the T20 World Cup, attention will shift to the LPL where these Pakistani players will strive to maintain their stellar performances and captivate fans worldwide. The opening clash of the LPL will witness B-Love Kandy, featuring Azam Khan and Salman Ali Agha, facing off against Dambulla Thunders, boasting the inclusion of IftiMania in their lineup.
