Islamabad, Oct 2: Malaysia Appoints Pakistani Hockey Legend as Assistant Coach for National Team. In an incredible move, Pakistani drag-flick virtuoso Sohail Abbas has joined the Malaysian national men’s field hockey team, dubbed the Speedy Tigers, as an assistant coach.
The Pakistani Hockey Legend player has signed a one-year contract with the option to extend, according to Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) President Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal.
The MHC President stated that in addition to enhancing the squad’s effectiveness at penalty corners, Sohail Abbas’ vast experience will enable him to assist the Malaysian national team in enhancing its overall performance. The MHC President said, “We need an expert, especially in improving the sharpness of penalty corners,” during a news conference.
Chris Ciriello was the previous appointment, however he left us quickly because of other obligations. Because a team’s performance on penalty corners determines whether they win or lose, Sohail’s presence can help them perform better.
