Islamabad, Oct 4: Malaysian Prime Minister Wraps Up Productive Three-Day Visit to Pakistan, Strengthening Bilateral Ties. Anwar Ibrahim, the prime minister of Malaysia, left for Pakistan on Friday after concluding a three-day official visit that, in his words, had “great personal significance.”

Alongside him at the airport were senior officials, members of the federal cabinet, and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, who had welcomed the Malaysian prime upon his arrival on Wednesday.

Anwar Ibrahim led the delegation-level meetings, had a “productive discussion” with President Asif Ali Zardari, and met one-on-one with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif while on the visit. Accompanying him was a high-level team of ministers, deputy ministers, and senior officials.

The Malaysian prime minister stated on his X timeline after the visit that the “discussions with industry representatives, along with engagements with my counterpart Shehbaz Sharif and President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, resulted in productive outcomes encompassing a wide array of mutual interests.”

According to him, these exchanges demonstrated the upper leadership’s dedication to improving relations. To strengthen bilateral collaboration in many sectors, the sides inked three memorandums of understanding. Additionally, it was decided that Pakistan will send $100,000 worth of Basmati rice and $200 million worth of halal meat to Malaysia.

Ibrahim continued, “There will undoubtedly be more cooperation in all areas of trade and agricultural technology, including Pakistan’s imports of meat, rice, and palm oil. The two nations will also increase their cooperation in the skilled worker sector through crucial areas like artificial intelligence (AI), digital, and semiconductors.”

President Zardari also presented Prime Minister Ibrahim with the Nishan-i-Pakistan award during a special investiture ceremony. In addition, the National University of Science and Technology awarded him an honorary PhD degree and invited him to give a public speech there.
