Islamabad, Nov 22: The retake of the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2024 in Islamabad has been postponed due to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest scheduled for November 24, according to ARY News.

Sources confirmed that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU) will now hold the test on Sunday, December 8.

Earlier, SZABMU had announced that the test would take place on November 24, following an Islamabad High Court (IHC) directive.

The court had ordered the test to be reconducted in Islamabad and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) after the original MDCAT results were invalidated.

In its October ruling, the IHC determined that the initial MDCAT 2024 paper was outside the prescribed syllabus and instructed the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) and SZABMU to administer a new test within a month.

Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir issued a one-page order directing SZABMU to ensure fairness and adherence to the syllabus for applicants in Islamabad.
