Islamabad, Aug 3: The Dimensity 9400, a new flagship processor from chipmaker MediaTek, is scheduled to go on sale in October. The company is producing a potent and energy-efficient chip by utilizing TSMC’s state-of-the-art 3 nm manufacturing process in conjunction with innovative technology.
According to MediaTek, the Dimensity 9400 has the capability to perform intricate operations, such as executing extensive language models on smartphones directly. In comparison to previous year, the company believes that the chip has the potential to greatly increase its income.
On July 31, MediaTek said that the new Dimensity 9400 processor will perform noticeably better than its predecessor when it comes to artificial intelligence workloads. Comparing the AI performance to the Dimensity 9300, which produced 48 TOPS, the business claims a 40% gain.
The chipmaker is trying to establish itself as the industry pioneer in smartphone AI processing. However, phones that use the Dimensity 9400 will probably cost more as a result of this cutting-edge technology. Like its predecessor, MediaTek’s new Dimensity 9400 chip is anticipated to put performance over energy efficiency. According to reports, it will share the same lack of power efficiency cores as the Dimensity 9300. According to reports, the chip will employ ARM’s BlackHawk architecture and achieve top-tier speed by depending only on high-performance cores.
According to rumors, the Dimensity 9400 will include 30 billion transistors on a 150mm² die, which would be MediaTek’s highest die size to date. However, practical testing is required to determine the chip’s true performance. Additionally, MediaTek and Nvidia are collaborating to create EV chips, which should be released in 2025. For these chips, Nvidia will supply the GPU, and MediaTek will handle the CPU and ISP.
