Islamabad, Aug 25: The Sindh-Makran coast is expected to see coastal flooding due to a significant monsoon spell that is expected to start today, according to the Met Office. Fishermen are urged by the weather agency not to go out into open waters between August 27 and August 30.
Additionally, PMD has cautioned that low-lying parts of Sindh, Baluchistan, and southern Punjab may experience pluvial floods or inundations in its alert. It should be noted that the Karachi municipal administration has canceled employee leaves of absence and declared a state of emergency and high alert for its personnel.
Due to the effect of a low-pressure system moving in from West Bengal, India, towards the eastern regions of Sindh, the Met Office has predicted significant rainfall in Karachi and other districts of Sindh between August 26 and 29.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts significant rainfall will be brought about by this powerful weather system. Additionally, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan region are expected to see rainfall from this monsoon system, with some areas experiencing high amounts.
