Islamabad, Sep 8: On Sunday, which cited service administration, metro bus service operations between Islamabad and Rawalpindi have been suspended owing to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) public rally.
The Metro Bus service stated that the government of Islamabad was still in charge of the operation, which would remain suspended from Sadar Station to the Pakistan Secretariat.
With today’s gathering in Islamabad, the PTI hopes to show off its political might. The location has already been visited by the party’s leadership, and everything is ready.
The district administration had approved the rally on the condition that it take place between 4 and 7 p.m. and not interfere with public transportation or business operations.
Police earlier found a suspicious bag from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) jalsa site in the Sangjani district of Islamabad that included explosives including a hand rocket launcher, a detonator, a hand grenade, and wires.
The bomb disposal squad was immediately called to secure the area and recheck the venue for any additional threats while no injuries were reported.
Islamabad’s entry and departure points are barred
Every point of entry and departure into the Red Zone of Islamabad has been containerized. The Margalla Road will only be open for entry by those who are approved.
The GT Road is blocked in both directions near the Sangjani region due to the placement of containers. The 26th toll plaza, where the motorway enters Islamabad, has also been closed.
At the Faizabad neighborhood, containers are being used to block the Murree Road. Containers have also obstructed the path from Rawat T-Chowk to Rawalpindi, and the Faizabad junction has been totally closed up.
