Islamabad, Oct 17: Metro Bus Service Suspension Extended in Islamabad and Rawalpindi
The Office of the District Magistrate, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), has declared that Metro Bus services, including all feeder lines, will remain suspended.
This choice is a component of the safety protocols put in place for the ongoing Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting.
The notification, which is sent to the Director of Metro Bus (BRT), explains that the current security situation surrounding the summit is the reason for the suspension.
The message highlights that, effective on the designated date, all Metro Bus routes will be closed, and that the appropriate authorities will be notified in writing.
It is recommended that commuters and locals make appropriate travel plans, as there may be difficulties in public transit throughout the day due to the service suspension.
When the services will recommence has not been specified, but it is expected that after the summit is over and security is loosened, things will restart as usual.
