Islamabad, Dec 3: Microsoft has increased its attempts to get customers to migrate to Windows 11 as the end-of-life date for Windows 10 draws near in October 2025.
Nonetheless, a lot of people still install Windows 11 on machines that don’t fit the system specifications. Microsoft has now explicitly warned consumers who are running Windows 11 on unsupported hardware of this.
Windows 11 will alert users to compatibility problems by displaying a watermark if a computer does not satisfy the minimal requirements. The hazards are explained in a new notice on Microsoft’s support page:
The minimum system requirements for Windows 11 are not met by this computer. It is not advised to install Windows 11 on this computer as it may cause compatibility problems. Updates won’t be accessible, and your PC will no longer be supported. The guarantee does not cover damages brought on by incompatibility.
Microsoft will really stop supporting Windows 11 on machines that are incompatible, which includes denying users access to important security updates. Moreover, warranty coverage may be totally nullified by any hardware problems.
Users will have to decide whether to upgrade their hardware to match Windows 11’s strict requirements or risk the serious consequences of running unsupported software, as Windows 10 will no longer be maintained after October 2025. Now is the moment to take action.
Users must carefully evaluate whether to upgrade their devices or stick with an unsupported version of the OS, which could result in performance problems and security vulnerabilities, as Microsoft pushes for the adoption of Windows 11. Additionally, if Microsoft provided a lighter version of Windows 11 for older devices rather than warning users, it would be far easier to encourage adoption of the operating system.
