Islamabad, Dec 24: A serious security vulnerability has been identified in Microsoft’s Windows operating system, leading the National Cyber Emergency Response Team (CERT) to release a warning.
The advisory highlights that this flaw could enable hackers to infiltrate systems and steal sensitive personal data, including usernames, domain credentials, and passwords, potentially allowing unauthorized access without the need to open files.
The vulnerability affects various Windows versions, from Windows 7 to Windows 11. CERT has urged users to adopt strong security measures to reduce the risk.
Users are advised to avoid using shared drives, shared folders, and email attachments, as these could be exploited as attack vectors.
