Former Pakistan team director Mohammad Hafeez has made serious allegations against the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), accusing them of bringing back Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim “out of greed”.
He claimed that deals were made with the players despite their detrimental impact on Pakistani cricket. Both players reversed their retirements after the 2024 Pakistan Super League and featured in the 2024 T20 World Cup, where Amir took seven wickets with an average of 10.28 and Imad claimed three wickets with an average of 14.66.
Hafeez argued that they should not have been selected due to their lack of interest in domestic cricket, reflecting broader issues within Pakistani cricket despite some successes in recent tournaments.
