Islamabad, Dec 18: Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, recently met with Prince Saud bin Mishal Al Saud, Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation, to explore collaborative opportunities aimed at advancing cricket development and infrastructure in Saudi Arabia.
During the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to promoting cricket globally and invited Prince Saud to attend the Champions Trophy 2025, which will be hosted in Pakistan. He expressed PCB’s readiness to support Saudi Arabia in building modern cricket facilities and fostering talent development. Highlighting the importance of collaboration, he proposed a player exchange program that would allow emerging Saudi cricketers to train professionally in Pakistan, benefiting from the country’s cricketing expertise.
“Saudi Arabia can send its emerging players to Pakistan for training,” Naqvi suggested, adding that such initiatives would significantly contribute to Saudi Arabia’s cricketing growth. He further remarked, “Saudi Arabia is like a second home for every Pakistani, and we are eager to collaborate in this exciting journey.”
Prince Saud bin Mishal expressed enthusiasm for strengthening ties with Pakistan, emphasizing Saudi Arabia’s growing interest and achievements in cricket. With an estimated 18,000 active players and a recent victory in the Asian Cricket Council’s Challenge Cup, Saudi Arabia is looking to expand its cricketing presence on the international stage. Prince Saud noted that collaboration with Pakistan could serve as a cornerstone for achieving these aspirations.
The meeting highlighted a mutual vision for cricketing excellence, with both leaders recognizing the potential for regional and international impact.
