Islamabad, Sep 27: In October, ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan the next year, Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), will meet with Jay Shah, the chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC).

According to sources, this important conference will take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, coinciding with the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup final. To confirm its logistical plans, the PCB is presently seeking final confirmation of the Champions Trophy schedule.

The PCB underlined the necessity of completing the schedule as soon as possible in order to guarantee smooth preparations for the esteemed tournament in recent talks with ICC authorities.Based on the suggested schedule, tentative reservations have been made; final confirmations are still pending. By the end of October, an official timetable announcement is expected from the ICC.

The primary topic on the agenda for Mohsin Naqvi and Jay Shah’s impending meeting is the Indian cricket team’s participation in the Champions Trophy, which is scheduled to take place in Pakistan. This is especially significant because neither India nor Pakistan have played a bilateral series since the 2012–13 campaign, and neither country has toured the other since 2008.

A detailed inspection of the locations in Karachi, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, and Lahore was already carried out by an ICC delegation. The delegation, which included important individuals like Mansoor Manj, Wasim Khan, Aun Muhammad Zaidi, Sarah Edgar, David Masker, and others, expressed satisfaction with the tournament’s security procedures and regulations. This encouraging evaluation raises hopes for the event’s successful hosting the following year.
