Islamabad, Jan 6: Dense fog has caused the closure of several sections of Pakistan’s motorway network, leading to major disruptions for commuters and transport services. Authorities have implemented safety measures by temporarily halting traffic on critical routes where visibility is severely reduced.
Notable closures include the complete shutdown of the Sialkot Motorway (M-11) and the suspension of traffic on the Lahore to Kot Momin section of Motorway M-2. Additionally, the entire stretch of Motorway M-3 is closed, and the M-4 Motorway, connecting Pindi Bhattian to Abdul Hakeem, is also inaccessible due to the fog.
People are being urged to avoid driving where necessary under such detrimental weather and follow announcements regarding the resumption of transit. All travellers are advised to avoid travelling during this time and be extra careful until the normal flow of traffic is back again.
