Islamabad, Jan 16: Ihsanullah, the young and dynamic fast bowler, caught the cricket world’s attention with his fiery performances. However, he recently faced a setback by not being selected in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 draft.
However, this setback has now turned into an opportunity, thanks to the timely intervention of Multan Sultans’ owner, Ali Tareen.
The team will seek all required regulatory approvals to comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Ihsanullah, left out of the PSL, has received a lifeline from the franchise.
He will represent Multan Sultans’ departmental team, JDW, in the upcoming President’s Cup Grade Two tournament.
This gesture speaks volumes about Multan Sultans’ commitment to nurturing young talent. Ali Tareen has been vocal about his support for Ihsanullah, emphasizing that the 22-year-old pacer is an invaluable asset to the country. “Ihsanullah is not just a valuable player for us; he’s an asset for Pakistan. Our focus will be on helping him regain his fitness and form,” said Tareen.

In addition to the opportunity in the President’s Cup, Ihsanullah will receive specialized training at the Multan Sultans Academy in Lodhran. Under the guidance of renowned fast bowling coach Catherine Dalton, he will work on refining his techniques and getting back to his peak performance. The academy provides an ideal environment for Ihsanullah to focus solely on his craft, enhancing his skills for the future.
Reflecting on the unwavering support from the franchise, Ihsanullah expressed his gratitude, saying, “Multan Sultans have been there for me from the start. Their faith in me has been constant, and I’m thankful for their support.”
Tareen emphasized Ihsanullah’s rare talent, calling him a once-in-a-generation fast bowler who must be protected and nurtured.
Although, Ihsanullah impressive performance during PSL 8 further solidified his status as one of the most exciting young pacers in the country. With 22 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 15.77 and an economy rate of 7.59, his fiery spells made a lasting impact. Despite the emotional rollercoaster following his exclusion from the PSL 10 draft, where he briefly announced his retirement before retracting the decision, Ihsanullah resilience continues to shine.
However, Multan Sultans’ unwavering faith in Ihsanullah’s potential, combined with their commitment to his development, highlights their dedication to building a strong team for the future.
