Islamabad, Feb 26 2025: Former Pakistani cricketer, Mushtaq Ahmed, has decided to file a Rs 35 crore defamation lawsuit against Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis, accusing them of harassment.

The development comes just ahead of the Pakistan game against Bangladesh in the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025 on February 27 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

The former spinner revealed in a video statement on a YouTube sports show that his legal team would be sending formal notices to both cricketers.

The former cricketer stated that while he respected fair criticism in sports analysis, he believed Akram and Waqar had crossed a line into harassment.

Mushtaq plans to sue Waqar Younis for Rs 20 crore and Wasim Akram for Rs 15 crore, as tensions escalate despite their long-standing association in cricket.

Although Mushtaq Ahmed did not specify the nature of the alleged harassment, he emphasized his demand for accountability.

After claims, Waqar Younis apologized to defuse the situation, while Wasim Akram rejected the allegations and vowed legal action.

It is worth mentioning that both Waqar Younis and Wasim Akram are part of a sports show on A Sports TV for ongoing Champions Trophy 2025.
