ISLAMABAD, JULY21: National Assembly Secretariat sources, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq of the National Assembly turned down the chairman of the Standing Committees’ request for new cars.Ayaz Sadiq retorted that the cars were from 2017 and 2019 models in response to several chairmen’s complaints that they were outdated and inefficient.
Speaker Ayaz Sadiq responded, “The vehicle I am using is also of the 2015 model,” according to sources. “The prime minister has also prohibited the purchase of new vehicles, and there are not enough funds to buy new vehicles,” he stated.
According to additional sources, the ministry of finance declined to supply money for the new cars as well. Speaker’s directive to fix only outdated cars and deliver them to standing committee chairs since the NA secretariat’s outdated cars are still functional. The speaker answered, “The speaker has ordered the defects to be removed.”
