Islamabad, Aug 227: This August 2024, Pakistan’s hairdressing scene saw a momentous night when the nation hosted the inaugural L’Oréal Professionnel Style & Color Trophy. Over 100 of Pakistan’s most gifted stylists came together for this esteemed competition, which has been held annually and is known internationally since 1954, to display their creativity and set fashion trends for the coming year.

The finalist group, which included Hamid Latif and Atif Zaib from Nabila’s Salon, Sania and Sadaf Ali Asghar from Posh by Sarwat in Faisalabad, Sumaira (T&G North) and Humaira (T&G South), Faryal, Nabeel Hussain, Nabeela Mubeen, Shaista Riaz, and Uzma Bashir, represented Faiza’s Salon in Islamabad.

The occasion itself was a celebration of the hairdressing profession in Pakistan. A thought-provoking lecture and an engrossing masterclass on the newest methods and trends opened it. The L’Oréal Professional Institute also assumed a prominent position, emphasizing its function in preparing upcoming generations of stylists.

The participation walk, however, was definitely the evening’s high point. An interactive element was added to the event whereby each contestant displayed their distinctive hair creations and the audience voted for their preferred appearance.The final walk, where the finalists showcased their work to an esteemed panel of judges, was the pinnacle of excitement. The difficult process of choosing the winner fell to renowned international hairstylist Indra Tanudarma and renowned Pakistani model and actress Vaneeza Ahmad.

Finally, Nabeel Hussain from Faiza’s Salon triumphed and was awarded the prestigious Style & Colour Trophy. “This platform is a celebration of the amazing talent we have in our industry, not just a competition,” stated Qawi Naseer, L’Oréal Pakistan’s Country Managing Director. “We are dedicated to giving Pakistani hairdressers a chance to shine on the international scene because we think they have a lot of untapped talent.”

Pakistan now officially participates in the Style & Colour Trophy, joining the esteemed group of nations. This gives local hair stylists a once-in-a-lifetime chance to exhibit their abilities internationally. L’Oréal Pakistan has contributed significantly to the growth of the beauty business in Pakistan. With a focus on developing local talent and delivering innovative hair care advances, the brand has taught over 8,000 stylists from a variety of backgrounds. A new generation of gifted stylists is already being influenced by their L’Oréal Professional Institute of Pakistan.

“I am truly impressed by the level of talent and creativity I’ve witnessed here in Pakistan,” said international judge Indra Tanudarma.
