Islamabad, Jan 16: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced a groundbreaking step to simplify access to identity-related services by launching the NADRA mobile app.

NADRA will establish three new regional offices in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gwadar, and Gilgit-Baltistan, boosting its nationwide presence.

The mobile app will replace the Pak-ID website, solving challenges faced by citizens, especially overseas Pakistanis.

Minister Naqvi explained that users often encountered technical difficulties, such as uploading fingerprints and required documents, when using the website.

The challenges hindered the process and created opportunities for fraud, as counterfeit websites produced fake identity documents.

To address this, the new mobile app now includes advanced security features and a user-friendly interface.

Citizens can now apply for identity cards, POCs, B-forms, and Family Registration Certificates (FRCs) conveniently from their homes. The app streamlines the entire process, eliminating the need for physical visits and making it particularly beneficial for individuals living in remote areas or abroad.

Additionally, Minister Naqvi announced that the three new regional offices will become operational by March 31, ensuring improved service delivery in underserved regions. He further revealed NADRA commitment to establishing offices in every tehsil across the country, with only 19 tehsils remaining to be covered by the same deadline. This expansion aims to bring services closer to the public and reduce the burden on existing facilities.

These measures signify NADRA’s dedication to enhancing efficiency and accessibility while combating fraudulent practices. The collaboration with other institutions to eliminate counterfeiting underscores the government’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of Pakistan’s identity database.

With the NADRA mobile app and the establishment of new regional offices, citizens can look forward to a more streamlined, secure, and accessible experience. This initiative reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to embrace technology and deliver modern solutions for public service challenges.
