Islamabad, Feb 31: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has set up special counters at various post offices in Punjab to facilitate citizens with identity card renewal and replacement services. This initiative, launched under the directives of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, aims to reduce congestion at NADRA offices and provide convenient access to essential identification services.

The Director General of NADRA Lahore Region has approved the establishment of special counters at 11 post offices, including:

  • Lahore Cantt
  • GPO Lahore
  • Manga Mandi
  • Shershah Colony
  • Shahdara
  • Qila Sheikhupura
  • Kasur
  • Narowal
  • Gujranwala
  • Sialkot
  • Okara

These counters have been set up in collaboration with the Pakistan Post Department’s Punjab Region, ensuring that citizens can renew or replace lost identity cards without waiting in long queues at NADRA offices.

Expansion of NADRA’s Digital Services

In a separate development, NADRA has introduced a new facility enabling citizens to deposit funds into accounts of over 50 banks through NADRA e-Sahulat. This initiative, launched in partnership with 1LINK, enhances biometric verification of depositors and promotes digital banking access across 9,000 e-Sahulat franchises nationwide.

This expansion of services marks another milestone in modernizing Pakistan’s public service delivery and improving financial accessibility for citizens.
