Islamabad, Oct 4: Nasser Hussain Cautions England against Underestimating Pakistan Ahead of Upcoming Matches. Commentator Nasser Hussain discusses the forthcoming test series between England and Pakistan.
Hussain said, “The last time England was there, Pakistan in Karachi where they’ve played, they were just fortresses,” in an interview with a news organization. Very few teams were able to prevail there. Pakistan has played nine test matches since that tour, winning just two of them (at home and away), and losing their last five. Pakistan has always been a volatile team with ups and downs, but right now they’re at an all-time low in all formats.
The former English captain, who is presently in the United Arab Emirates for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, made note of Babar Azam’s decline in performance as well as the frequent coach-captain turnover in Pakistani cricket.
Hussain was eager to caution the English side against becoming complacent, stating that it would be naive to think that victory in Pakistan would be simple. They are an extremely patriotic cricket-loving country.
He said, “They will still be a force at home and they won’t like the slump they are in.” Hussain declared in closing that all eyes would be on the Pakistani team and their potential to end their dismal run of results.
