The public has been warned by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) that there is a chance of landslides, intense rainfall, and urban flooding in many areas of Pakistan within the next three days.

Climate Action Pakistan, Heavy rainfall of 50 to 100 mm or more is expected, according to the NDMA’s National Emergency Operations Center. This might cause local rivers and urban areas to flood.Urban flooding is a significant risk for cities like Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, and Rawalpindi because of severe rainfall that overwhelms drainage infrastructure.With the anticipated rain, mountainous areas including Guliyat, Kashmir, Kohistan, Mansehra, and Murree may experience flash floods and landslides.

Local governments and provincial disaster management authorities have been directed to take precautionary actions to safeguard communities that are vulnerable. This entails maintaining appropriate drainage and responding quickly to any blockages that are detected.It is recommended that homeowners maintain the drainage system surrounding their properties and promptly report any problems to the local government. Tourists and travelers should exercise caution and use the “Pak NDMA Disaster Alert” smartphone app to be informed about the weather.
