Islamabad, Aug 22: For the next 24 hours, the Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has predicted rain in the majority of the province’s districts. The Indus River is seeing a low flood, but the water levels in the Chenab, Ravi, Jhelum, and Sutlej rivers are normal, according to the PDMA Director General.
According to the PDMA, things are currently stable in the hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur. The Director General claims that those who lived in dangerous areas have been moved to safe areas.
It went on to say that Mangla Dam is operating at 71% capacity, while Tarbela Dam is full. Additionally, the water levels in Bhakra Dam, Pong Dam, and Thaen Dam are 54%, 53%, and 26%, respectively.
The PDMA representative stated that the Basantar nullah in Narowal is now at a low flood level.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has released a fresh alert warning for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, predicting wind, rain, thunderstorms, and severe downpours. Until Saturday, scattered showers are predicted in Punjab.
The public and other pertinent authorities have been instructed by the authority to take preventative measures in order to lower the dangers related with possible flooding and landslides.
