Neom, a futuristic megacity being developed in Saudi Arabia, recently unveiled cutting-edge technology designed to streamline airport procedures without requiring manual interaction.

This advanced system integrates biometric scanners and high-resolution cameras to capture travelers’ biometrics, offering a seamless and contactless experience for international visitors passing through Neom Bay Airport.

Lieutenant General Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al Yahya, Director General of Passports, paid a visit to Neom, where he and his delegation toured key facilities including Neom Bay Airport and the project’s command-and-control center. During the visit, Al Yahya was briefed on the latest technologies and initiatives, with a special focus on the future implementation of contactless eGates for passport control.

In collaboration with Jawazat, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), and the National Information Center, among other government agencies, Neom is currently trialing this automated border control system.

This partnership between Neom and Jawazat not only enhances the traveler experience but also facilitates knowledge exchange between the organizations. As Jawazat plays a pivotal role in providing services for passengers at airports across Saudi Arabia, their involvement in Neom’s developments underscores the importance of cooperation in advancing innovative solutions in airport operations.
