Islamabad, Oct 15: No Threat to Pakistan’s Coast as Possible Storm Moves Away PMD Confirms
The depression over the central Arabian Sea has moved west northwestward over the last ten hours, according to a report released on Monday by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The system is currently located at roughly Latitude 16.2N and Longitude 61.0E, over the west-central Arabian Sea.
Approximately 1,150 kilometers southwest of Karachi, 1,080 kilometers southwest of Ormara, and 1,010 kilometers south of Gwadar are where the depression is now located, according to the PMD. About 520 kilometers southeast of Masirah and 740 kilometers east of Salalah are where the system is located in Oman.
Within the next twelve hours, it is anticipated that the depression will deteriorate into a clearly defined low-pressure region as it moves closer to the coast of Oman. The core of the system is expected to see squally winds with gusts of up to 50 km/h and speeds of 30 to 40 km/h. The water is expected to stay choppy till tomorrow.
Balochistani fishermen are warned to exercise caution and hold off on entering deep seas until tomorrow. The PMD guaranteed that this weather storm poses no threat to any portion of Pakistan’s coastline.
