Islamabad, Aug 9: The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Pakistan and the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI) have teamed in a ground-breaking effort to advance the vision of a more inclusive and sustainable Pakistan.

Leading activities on gender equality, diversity, inclusion, and social impact investments are planned as a result of this cooperation, which reflects both organizations’ dedication to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN.

“Together with UNDP, we are committed to leveraging collective expertise to create impactful research reports, advocacy campaigns, and knowledge-sharing events,” stated OICCI Chief Executive and Secretary General M. Abdul Aleem during the MoU signing ceremony on Thursday.

Dr. Samuel Rizk, the UNDP’s Resident Representative in Pakistan, stated, “This collaboration is a testament that businesses can be both profitable and socially responsible.” Pakistan’s bankability is rising.

OICCI’s mission is to create an atmosphere where companies, the government, and the general public can prosper and contribute to a more just and sustainable future for Pakistan, according to OICCI Managing Committee Member Andrew Bailey. Reaching our common goals is made possible in large part by this relationship. Building capacity, conducting policy research and advocacy, and promoting green finance, energy, diversity and inclusion, and digital transformation will be the main areas of focus for this partnership.
