Islamabad, Aug 20: After more than a month in China, the Oppo A3 is leaving the country. With a new specification sheet and look, it appears to be an entirely different phone with the same name because it has already arrived in India.
Design and Display
The display remains a 6.67-inch panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a resolution of 720p. It’s an LCD with a touch sampling rate of 240 Hz for fast response times and a maximum brightness level of 1000 nits. Its fingerprint sensor is MIL-STD-810H approved for military-grade shock resistance, and it is located on the side above the power button.
Internals and Software
The Chinese counterpart’s Snapdragon 695 SoC has been replaced with a Dimensity 6300 chip, which includes 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of expandable storage via microSD card.
Software-wise, you get Android 14 with ColorOS 14 on top.
Cameras
Like the Chinese version, it has a 50MP primary camera on the rear in addition to an auxiliary lens that is only there for aesthetic purposes. Both 30 FPS and 60 FPS 1080p video recording are supported by this camera.
The 5MP selfie camera is housed inside the punch-hole cutout.
Battery and Pricing
Nearly identical in size, the battery now holds 5,100 mAh (up from 5,000 mAh) and can be charged via 45W cable charging with the accompanying charger that comes in the package.
In India, the Oppo A3 is available for at $191 at launch.
