Islamabad, Sep 20: Abdul Aleem Khan, the federal minister for privatization and communications, has pushed the National Highway Authority (NHA) to finish developing its online highway system as soon as possible.
During his speech in Lahore, the minister emphasized that 92% of motorists currently use M-tags to pay for tolls. He urged carriers to utilize this technique in order to facilitate transactions. Khan directed the NHA to implement high-tech systems akin to those seen in industrialized nations, emphasizing the necessity of cutting-edge technology.
Additionally, he emphasized how crucial it is for the NHA and Motorway Police to work together to maintain efficient operations on highways. The minister gave the NHA instructions to install a cutting-edge monitoring system compliant with Safe City standards and to create a dashboard that is updated every day. He suggested using contemporary cameras and technologies to improve monitoring and surveillance.
Khan applauded the NHA’s efforts to increase income and recommended more measures to fortify the organization. He suggested that E-tags be used instead of cash at toll booths and suggested that non-compliant cars pay a fine.Along with emphasizing the necessity for uniform legislation for all vehicles on highways, the minister also offered honorary diplomas to personnel who successfully reform the NHA.
