Islamabad, Sep 28: Pak Envoy Highlights Cultural Significance of the Great Wall in Strengthening Ties. The Great Wall is a symbol of strength and resiliency in Chinese culture, and Pakistan’s ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, has emphasized this while recognizing Pakistan’s 1989 contribution to the Wall’s rebuilding as a testament to their unwavering friendship.
Speaking at the opening of the exhibition commemorating the 40th anniversary of “Love Our China, Repair the Great Wall” in the Badaling section near Beijing, Pak Envoy Hashmi emphasized the shared historical and cultural ties between the two countries by drawing comparisons between the Indus Valley Civilization and the ancient Buddhist center of Taxila, Pakistan, and the Great Wall.
Pakistan and China have long had a special and enduring partnership built on trust, respect, and a willingness to advance together, according to Pak Envoy Khalil Hashmi. He emphasized that a profound cultural understanding that transcends political and economic collaboration enriches the bond between the two nations.
He compared Pakistan and China’s friendship to the Great Wall, saying it is resilient, steady, and long-lasting. He reiterated the determination to keep laying the groundwork for future expansion of cooperation in a variety of areas, including infrastructure, trade, and cross-cultural exchange.
Chinese academics and politicians, including Bian Jinping, a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference’s (CPPCC) 12th National Committee, were present at the event. They talked about the Great Wall’s significance as a representation of inventiveness and resiliency on a global scale. They also expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s commitment to the Great Wall’s maintenance in their welcoming statement.
