Islamabad, Oct 19: At the Oman Cricket Academy Ground in Muscat, Oman, Pakistan A and India A will begin their respective ACC T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024 campaigns at 6:30 PM PST. This matchup promises to be another exciting one between the longstanding rivals.
The two teams have not played since the final of the previous year, when Pakistan A defeated India A by 128 runs at Premadasa Stadium in Colombo to win the trophy for the second time in a row.
Their fifteenth meeting is already scheduled against a tense backdrop and looks to be another slobber knocker of a match.
It’s interesting to note that all previous editions of the competition used the 50-over format; this is the first time the competition has switched to the shortest version of the game.
The Shaheens underwent a demanding five-day training camp at the Hanif Mohammad National High-Performance Centre in Karachi to hone their abilities for the quick-paced T20 format before leaving for Oman.
Pakistan A vs India A Oman, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are all in Group B.
Following their match against India, Pakistan will play Oman at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground on October 21 at 2:00 PM PKT, and the UAE at the same location on October 23 at 2:00 PM PKT.
With Abdul Samad, Ahmed Daniyal, Arafat Minhas, Haider Ali, Maaz Sadaqat, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Mohmmad Imran Jr., Omair Bin Yousuf, Qasim Akram, Rohail Nazir, Shahnawaz Dahani, Sufiyan Moqim, Yasir Khan, and Zaman Khan completing the touring group, Mohammad Haris is leading the Shaheens team.
With a victory, the Men in Green will aim to narrow the 9-4 aggregate head-to-head disadvantage.
