Islamabad, Jan 6: The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ministerial Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (Comstech), in collaboration with the University of Lahore, has introduced a joint fellowship program aimed at strengthening academic ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh. According to a statement from Comstech, the initiative is a collaborative effort to develop talent, foster innovation, and enhance academic exchanges among OIC member countries.
This fellowship seeks to offer Bangladeshi students and researchers’ opportunities for higher education and advanced research in areas such as allied health sciences, engineering and technology, pharmacy, management sciences, social sciences, and humanities. It will also provide technical training for lab staff in science, technology, and engineering fields.
Prof. Mohammad Iqbal Choudhary, the Comstech Coordinator General, emphasized the importance of the fellowship, noting, “This initiative reflects our commitment to bridging the educational and research gaps across the Muslim world. By supporting Bangladeshi students and scholars, we aim to nurture future leaders and innovators who will address global challenges.”
The fellowship program highlights the joint dedication of Comstech and the University of Lahore to advancing education and professional development within the Muslim world. The program is open to Bangladeshi nationals aged 22 to 45, residing anywhere, with outstanding academic accomplishments and a strong commitment to community service.
The fellowship covers tuition, round-trip airfare, stipend, and free accommodation. Eligible candidates can apply through the official websites of Comstech and the University of Lahore by March 1, 2025.
