In Beijing, Pakistan and Cambodia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday regarding the formation of a joint trade committee.
According to a report by Xinhua citing a press release from Cambodia’s Ministry of Commerce, the agreement was finalized in Phnom Penh between Cambodian Minister of Commerce Cham Nimul and Pakistani Ambassador to Cambodia Zaheeruddin Babar Thaheem.
Nimul expressed optimism about the MoU, stating that it would significantly enhance the relationship between the two countries, particularly in terms of trade and economic cooperation. She emphasized that the establishment of a joint trade committee under this memorandum would serve as a mechanism to facilitate favorable conditions for businesses and investors, as well as to diversify economies, expand production bases, and promote bilateral trade.
The MoU outlines that both nations will collaborate and involve private sectors, including chambers of commerce and business associations, to stimulate trade and economic activities. Additionally, they will share information on trade, support small and medium enterprises, and enhance mutual exports.
