Islamabad, Aug 20: Henny de Vries, the Dutch ambassador, was received by Federal Minister of Interior Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday at the Ministry of Interior to talk about matters of common concern.
The meeting’s main objectives were to improve bilateral collaboration in a number of areas, with a focus on bolstering cricket relations and fighting human trafficking in particular.Naqvi underlined Pakistan’s dedication to strengthening ties with the Netherlands, especially in areas like the fight of human trafficking, where he emphasized the significance of coordinated global action.Naqvi stated, “Human smugglers are a formidable mafia, and no country can tackle them alone.” The conversation also included an Italian team’s impending visit to Pakistan with the goal of advancing these cooperative initiatives.
Both parties also acknowledged the need to increase assistance for Afghan refugees, with Pakistan restating its long-standing pledge to house displaced people. Talks about strategies to promote cricket between the two countries also touched on other topics related to sports.
In addition to congratulating Minister Naqvi on his nomination, Ambassador de Vries emphasized the value of sports diplomacy and the Asian Cricket Council presidency. He hoped that stronger cricket links would give the Netherlands team important possibilities to benefit from Pakistan’s experience.
Positively, the parties decided to expand their cooperation in a number of areas as the meeting came to an end, strengthening the already solid and expanding ties between Pakistan and the Netherlands.
