Islamabad, Sep 30: Pakistan and Oman to Foster Interfaith Harmony and Peace Through Dialogue Salik. Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, has underlined the need of Pakistan and Oman cooperating to advance interfaith and intercultural dialogue as a means of fostering religious harmony, peace, and tolerance.

He said these things in a meeting with Sheikh Mohammed bin Said bin Khalfan Al Mamari, the Omani Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, during his three-day visit to Oman.

According to Salik, the problems that the Muslim world is currently facing call for the advancement of Islamic harmony, tolerance, and solidarity. He emphasized the need for Muslim nations to stand together, especially in light of the current state of the world, which necessitates actions to advance harmony, tolerance, and peace.

He emphasized that tolerance and respect are fundamental to Islamic teachings and that interfaith and civilizational discourse is necessary for world peace. Salik praised Oman’s security personnel for acting quickly to stop the attack on a mosque in July, which stopped things from getting worse.

Additionally, he suggested collaborative conferences and seminars on important religious subjects as a means of fostering dialogue between religious academics and experts in order to enhance comprehension of Islamic teachings.Salik also recommended setting up student exchange programs between the two nations’ religious institutions, with an emphasis on Islamic history, Shariah, and Quranic teachings.

The two officials talked about a number of ideas to combat the rising sectarianism, terrorism, and religious intolerance while also promoting peace and harmony amongst faiths. Both parties decided to strengthen their collaboration in thwarting extremism and advancing religious harmony during the conference. They decided to work together to update religious school curricula (madrasas) to better reflect modern Islamic principles.
