Islamabad, Dec 28: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have formalized a significant collaboration by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) focused on the publication and translation of the Holy Quran, aimed at promoting Islamic knowledge and fostering religious understanding. The agreement was announced by the Saudi Ministry of Religious Affairs via social media platform X, highlighting the partnership between the two nations’ religious ministries.

The signing ceremony took place in Jeddah and was attended by Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh, Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs. The MoU outlines a broad scope of cooperation, including advocacy, preacher training, and promoting Islam’s message of moderation and virtues.

Collaborative efforts to publish and translate the Holy Quran and the Prophetic Sunnah into multiple languages to ensure accessibility and understanding worldwide. Sharing expertise in mosque construction, maintenance, and management.

Programs to enhance the skills of preachers and imams in delivering the message of Islam effectively. Revival of Islamic heritage, publishing Islamic literature, and preserving historical manuscripts to safeguard the rich legacy of the faith. The MoU underscores the shared commitment of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia to promote Islamic values, education, and unity.

In a related development, Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs has signed an agreement with Saudi Airlines to support Hajj operations, ensuring efficient travel arrangements for 35,000 Pakistani pilgrims. These partnerships highlight the strong ties between the two nations and their joint efforts to enhance religious services and support for Muslim communities.
