Islamabad, Oct 10: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthening Economic Cooperation. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on Thursday reiterated their determination to strengthen partnership in trade, agriculture, minning and information technology.

Speaking on the occasion, President Asif Ali Zardari said that Pakistan discussed with the Saudi delegation about making collective efforts for progress and the welfare of the people of both the countries and the region and the Islamic world as a whole during a meeting held at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad Saudi Minister for Investment Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih highlighted Saudi Arabia’s willingness to invest in Pakistan to bring positive change and prosperity for both the Addressing the delegation the president unwavering highlight on Pakistan and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) the time tested bilateral relationship.

Pakistan willing to enhance the bilateral relationship to long term strategic and economic partnership asserting that it will turn the two ‘Brotherly’ nations even closer.President Zardari has again and again underlined deep respect of Pakistan for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and has reiterated Pakistan’s clear stand to stand in solidarity with Saudi Arabia.

He also expressed his admiration for the kind of leadership by Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.The president also warmly applauded the tremendous advancement the kingdom of Saudi Arabia had made under Vision 2030 and thanked the kingdom for its assistance to Pakistan in the times of crises. He said that he was glad to see the level of development and growth of Saudi Arabia.

This he said that Saudi Arabia understood the geopolitical importance of Pakistan and its latest geographical prospect for minerals and green energy. He told that Saudi Arabia wanted its investment in infrastructure and mining including sectors of Pakistan and in this connection, his delegation would sign 25 accord in various fields to enhance the mutual bilateral relationship.

Speaking of the latter, he said that he wished the signing of the agreements initiated a new period of mutual economic performance in the sphere of the two nations. As their main priorities both sides agreed to enhance cooperation in the sphere of agriculture and information and communication technologies.

The meeting was attended by Minister for Petroleum Muhammad Musadik Malik, Minister for Commerce Kamal Hyder Hayat, Minister for Privatization Abdul Aleem Khan, Minister for Interior Raja Mohammad Zulqarnain, Minister for religious affairs Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi and present senator Saleem Mandviwalla. Saudi Ambassador in Islamabad Nawaf Saeed Al Malki was also in attendance in the said meeting.
