Islamabad, Aug 28: Muhammad Aurangzeb, the federal minister of finance and revenue, received a farewell courtesy call from Dr. Mehmet Paçaci, the ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, today at the Finance Division.

The signature of the Trade in Goods Agreement 2022 was also emphasized at the meeting as a critical step in reaching the $5 billion bilateral trade goal. The importance of expanding trade and investment opportunities through additional business-to-business (B2B) and government-to-government (G2G) agreements was emphasized by both parties.

The gathering highlighted Pakistan and Turkey’s close and fraternal relationships, which are based on their common religious beliefs, cultural heritage, and shared history.

The finance minister conveyed gratitude for the departing Ambassador’s efforts to improve ties between the two countries and reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to keep expanding its collaboration with Turkey in a number of areas, such as trade, investment, technical cooperation, and more.

The Minister also emphasized the gains gained during the Turkish trade delegation’s recent visit to Pakistan, which was facilitated by Dr. Omer Bolat, Turkiye’s Minister of Trade, and which helped find new opportunities for collaboration in industries like energy, agriculture, technology, and infrastructure.

During his speech, Ambassador Paçaci conveyed his appreciation for the assistance and collaboration provided by the Pakistani government while he was in office. On behalf of the Turkiye trade mission, he also expressed gratitude, pointing out that these interactions will strengthen economic connections and help realize the enormous potential for bilateral trade and investment.

Finally, the Minister wished Ambassador Paçaci well in his future undertakings and conveyed his belief in the ongoing cooperation and abiding friendship between Pakistan and Turkey. The ambassador further pledged Turkiye’s ongoing dedication to advancing the shared objectives of the two countries.
