Islamabad, Apr 5, 2025: Pakistan and the United States have reiterated their shared vision for strengthening collaboration in the energy sector, aiming to achieve long-term sustainability and mutual progress.

The renewed commitment came during a high-level discussion between US Embassy’s Charge d’Affaires Natalie Baker and Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Petroleum, Ali Pervaiz Malik, held on Friday.

Both officials underscored the importance of expanding bilateral energy partnerships, focusing on cleaner energy solutions, mineral exploration, oil and gas ventures, and infrastructural development.

The meeting emphasized boosting cooperation in areas that align with modern energy demands and sustainable growth for both nations.

Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik highlighted the growing energy needs of Pakistan and stressed the importance of innovation and international collaboration.

“We are actively looking into joint energy projects—particularly in oil, gas, and renewables—to promote energy security and economic stability for the people of Pakistan,” he stated.

During the talks, discussions also revolved around technological advancements, strategic investments, and energy policy improvements to ensure a more efficient and future-ready power landscape.

Both sides agreed that continued dialogue and technical cooperation could create win-win opportunities for the two countries.

In a notable development, it was announced that acting US Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asia, Eric Meyer, will be visiting Pakistan to attend the upcoming Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum on April 8. His participation signals a significant step in reviving high-level interactions between Islamabad and Washington.

Natalie Baker praised Pakistan’s efforts toward economic revival, acknowledging the nation’s progress in implementing key economic reforms.

She also affirmed the US government’s intention to strengthen its multifaceted partnership with Pakistan—not only in the energy space but also in regional stability and economic security.

This renewed focus on joint ventures and clean energy innovation reflects a promising future for Pakistan-US energy relations.
