Islamabad, Oct 15: Pakistan, China Resolve to Deepen Strategic Cooperation and Accelerate CPEC Development. China and Pakistan reaffirmed their resolve on Tuesday to substantially expand strategic cooperation in a number of important areas, including as investment, the economy, and regional connectivity.

The necessity of accelerating the execution of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects was also underlined by both parties. President Asif Ali Zardari and Li Qiang, the visiting Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, met at Aiwan-e-Sadr to discuss this.

The president welcomed the group and underlined that Pakistan’s friendship with its all-weather partner continues to be a fundamental aspect of the nation’s foreign policy. Since there remained more room to grow bilateral ties, he emphasized the significance of looking for new opportunities for collaboration.

In order to improve trade and interpersonal relationships, he also emphasized the necessity of building all-weather road networks. According to him, Chinese businesses should invest in the Pakistan Stock Exchange in order to take advantage of the country’s investment potential.

The president said that it was the right moment to take full advantage of China’s economic expansion, especially with the Gwadar Port and CPEC. He said that he will be going to China in November and was excited to meet up with old acquaintances and have conversations to deepen the two countries’ relationship. Considering his former trips to China throughout his term.

He pointed out that China has continuously given Pakistan its steadfast support on important matters of shared concern. President Zardari said that the entire country was extremely saddened by the unfortunate loss of two Chinese nationals in a terrorist attack and offered his sincere condolences.

He underlined that the adversaries of the Pakistan-China friendship were attempting to damage bilateral ties by attacking Chinese citizens and interfering with CPEC projects, but that such nefarious attempts would fail.

He reiterated Pakistan’s determination to find the offenders and make sure they are punished to the highest standard. He gave the Chinese Premier his word that Pakistan would do everything in its power to improve the safety of Chinese workers in the nation.

President Zardari expressed gratitude for China’s backing of Pakistan in the conflict over Jammu and Kashmir. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s backing for China on all of its fundamental concerns, such as the South China Sea, Taiwan, Tibet, Hong Kong, Xinjiang, and the “One China” policy.

Premier Li Qiang spoke at the event and reiterated that China and Pakistan were close friends, partners, neighbors, and brothers. He emphasized that under President Xi Jinping’s direction, strategic cooperation between China and Pakistan would continue to grow.

He praised President Asif Ali Zardari’s efforts to advance closer ties between China and Pakistan. Premier Li emphasized that both countries have continuously stood by one another through all of the world’s difficulties and conveyed confidence that they will keep working together to advance their alliance.

The premier underlined the necessity of quickening the development projects’ pace under CPEC. He emphasized that China would keep encouraging Chinese businesses to make investments in Pakistan. He was also hopeful that Pakistan-China relations will continue to improve and strengthen in the future.

Regarding all of China’s fundamental concerns, such as the “One China” policy, Taiwan, Tibet, Hong Kong, Xinjiang, and the South China Sea, the Chinese Premier praised Pakistan for its unwavering support.
