At GITEX Global 2024 in Dubai, Pakistan’s IT sector made a big impression and won “Tech Destination of the Year.”

At one of the biggest technology shows in the world, more than 200 Pakistani businesses, startups, and industry professionals took the stage. The large turnout demonstrated the burgeoning might of Pakistan’s tech industry, which has been growing quickly and drawing interest from around the world.

The IT Ministry claims that the Pakistan Pavilion at GITEX 2024 demonstrated the nation’s vibrant and quickly developing technology sector.

Attendees at the B2B networking events could network with investors, world-class IT specialists, and leaders in the sector. These exchanges paved the way for collaborations and cooperation, establishing Pakistan as a major force in the world of technology.

At the ceremony, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Minister of State for IT and Telecom, praised the accomplishments of Pakistani tech companies.

She emphasized the various contracts and alliances that these businesses had formed, claiming that doing so would allow Pakistan’s expanding IT industry access to new markets.

She went on, “This success is a testament to our country’s increasing influence as a global tech hub,” highlighting the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication’s contribution in advancing Pakistan’s IT sector globally.

According to the IT Ministry, many Pakistani companies signed key Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) during the five-day exhibition with international partners.

These agreements are expected to drive innovation and growth in the country’s tech industry, fostering new collaborations with global players. The event provided an excellent platform for Pakistani startups and companies to secure international partnerships and funding.

Held from October 14–18, GITEX Global brings together corporate buyers, investors, government representatives, and leaders in the ICT sector.

For Pakistan, which is keen to demonstrate its strengths and establish a presence in profitable markets, especially in the Middle East, the occasion is especially significant.

Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja showed her pleasure in Pakistani companies’ achievements at the event during an interview. In her view, these moves—signing memorandums of understanding and forming important partnerships—will greatly expand the nation’s technology industry in the upcoming years.
