Pakistanis have spent $547.4 million on tea imports during the first 10 months of this financial year.
As per the Pakistan Statistical Institute report, tea imports have seen a 17 percent increase during this period compared to the previous fiscal year. Last year, tea worth $467.6 million was imported during the same 10-month period.
The import quantity has also risen, with 219,066 tons of tea imported in the first 10 months of this financial year, marking a 15 percent increase from the 190,830 tons imported during the same period last fiscal year.
Reports indicate a 10 percent decline in tea imports in April 2024 compared to March 2024. In April 2024, tea imports amounted to $52.2 million, whereas in March 2024, they were valued at $58.5 million.
