Islamabad, Aug 25: In an effort to fortify the nation’s energy infrastructure, Pakistan has initiated its first-ever low-carbon energy storage project. The Prime Minister’s Coordinator on Climate Change, Romina Khurshid Alam, was present at the project’s introduction event held in the federal capital.

Alam stressed that Pakistan has made significant progress with the novel “Energy Storage as a Service” (ESaaS) model, which enables energy storage to be provided as a service rather than as an expensive investment.

It is anticipated that this strategy will reduce the burden on businesses and promote the adoption of sustainable practices by improving the accessibility and efficiency of energy storage. This project not only advances technology for the country but also demonstrates Pakistan’s increasing commitment to combating climate change.

The nation is leading the way in balancing environmental responsibility with energy needs by implementing such innovative policies. A key component of Pakistan’s larger initiatives to lower its carbon footprint, increase energy reliability, and facilitate the switch to greener energy sources is the low-carbon energy storage project.
